Electronista: Sony late Thursday said it had developed a small, phone-sized 17.7-megapixel camera sensor that would overcome much of the performance bottlenecks of earlier technology.
At 34.8Gbps of bandwidth, it's about five times faster than a typical phone camera and can handle burst photography or high-speed video that wouldn't have been an option before.
Sony's preorder routine is slightly different this time around.
With BMW, Sony Honda and Ram revealing EV plans, cars dominated CES 2023
According to a recent statement by Sony, it has sold out around 25 million PlayStation 5 consoles.
Why does one need 17.7MP on a phone :| Honest question. I seriously don't know why so many manufacturers are putting so much effort in the camera on these things while they could be focusing attention on other things like hardware optimization, etc.. there are much bigger things than the camera. If I wanted to take photos, I'd use my Panasonic GF1.
