Samsung’s Galaxy S3 VS BlackBerry’s Z10

I think RIM is making the same mistake Nokia did with the Lumia phones and that is they are releasing a phone to compete with products that are on the market now rather than the ones that will be coming in the upcoming months. Can't wait to see what Samsung does with its Youn screen with upcoming products and i hope someone uses the Tactus morphing touch screen technology very soon.

Why the S3 comparison though? The S4 is on its way and I'm guessing it's going to blow other phones out of the water in terms of specs. The S3 is a pretty old phone but still very competitive. I'm happy that BlackBerry finally is seeing the light, but they really haven't hit the mark with the Z10.

KingPin4268d ago

nevermind the S4, why havent they compared it to the Note2 or the LG optimus G or the LG nexus?

all those phones are superior to the S3. i think BB had its day, just like nokia has. i also read somewhere that BB10 was ditching BIS, the service that made it popular to start off with.

I have to disagree with you saying Nokia has had its day. No company can stay at the top for ever in the Tech world. Everything has a life span and just like it was MS in the pc world Nokia were the mobile world. Apple were then top of the tree and now it is Android. Android will one day start to drop in sales and something else will come along and take its place. As for Nokia they are starting to come back into the Market again with its Lumia range and I see them becoming the 3rd biggest behind Samsung and Apple over the next 3 years as there Lumia devices can hold them self's up against the best Smart phones out there and the same with the Mid and bottom end of the market phones with the 800s and 600s.

As for Blackberry I don't think they will be able to get back into the market as they don't offer enough options with the devices. I maybe wrong and I hope they can get back into the market as having Android, IOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry all doing well in the market makes it even better for us as customers as it will keep them all competing to keep there mobile OS above the others.

so all you care about is "in terms of specs" ?
blackberry had a right step in right direction, focusing on quality software and experience is better than focusing on increasing core number!

what S4 will offer that you don't already know ?5 inch full HD display? quadcore A15 with quad A7 cores in 28nm node process? does that make your experience any better? is it enough to make S4 unique compare to Optimus G pro or other Full HD androids?

the only thing samsung have done better than other android players is brand management, highend product support and S-pen(which S4 wont have I think)

Z10 wont be successful like original iphone or galaxy S2 , but Im sure it will bring sth new to the table. hope nokia and Blackberry live healthy, because without them Im sure apple and samsung cant bring enough innovation in this market

Well, a few reviews did point out that the it isn't the simplest piece of software to use. Getting to apps required going through a lot of menus. I'm sure people will get accustomed, but from the demonstration, there really wasn't anything on the UX front that impressed me to say stood out vs. what's offered on iPhone or Android.

Meh, quite disappointed. Android/iPhone much?

mcstorm4273d ago

If im honest I want blackberry to do well as the smart phone market is a bit bald at the moment with only ios android and wp8. I am a wp user but to me having more choice in the market will result in better options for customers and it will also keep them all trying to out do each other. Its the same in the tablet market having windows 8 ios android and playbook all doing well in the market again keep them all on there tows and offers customers more choice.

I have to agree with you.

There just doesn't seem to be much of a distinctive look or feature-set to it. That's primarily why I opted for the lumia 920 a few weeks ago over an android device and my original iphone.

But I am digging the fluidity of the user interface and the classy handset, but that's about it..

Maybe it's just me but it looks like the iPhone 5.
