CrunchGear: We reported back in August about how Japanese consumers reacted to the first 3D TVs Sony and Panasonic released this summer, and now the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) has released the first detailed sales numbers.
According to the organization, shipments of 3D TVs in Japan came to 131,000 units between April and September this year- that’s 1.34% of all flat-panel displays sold in the country in that time frame. The JEITA says that among big-screen TVs (37 inches+), 3D models accounted for 4.12% (most 3D TVs fall into this category).
