Pocket-Lint: If you like a high megapixel count in your digital SLR then Sigma has got you covered. It's just announced the launch of the Sigma SD1 - a digital SLR camera that packs a 46 megapixel 24 x 16mm APS-C X3 direct image sensor.
Techradar-The DP3 Merrill has a 50mm f/2.8 optic, whereas the DP1 Merrill has a 19mm lens and the DP2 Merrill a 30mm lens.
Because the DP3 Merrill has an APS-C sized (23.4x15.7mm) sensor this 50mm lens produces images comparable with a 75mm on a full-frame camera.
TechRadar - Sigma has admitted that its recent entry into the compact system camera market in the shape of compatible lenses is a bit of a gamble.
Speaking to TechRadar at Focus on Imaging, Graham Armitage, MD of Sigma UK, said "It's a bit of a leap of faith, but if they sell well then we'll make some more."
