Pocket-Lint: They're boxy, but they're good, goes the quote from Crazy People starring Dudley Moore to describe the Volvos of yesteryear. Trouble is, that was a long time ago and the company has changed somewhat since then.

I dislike car technology. you buy the 2012 edition then the 2013 comes out with even better bells and whistles. and then you either have to re-lease or re buy or jump through hoops to upgrade.

Or just don't have buyer's remorse and be satisfied with what you have.

This is just the downside to all technology. It can be a TV, sound system, phone, car, and even houses. It most cases (phones for example) you jump a generation or two before replacing your device. Typical lifespan (depending on the person) of cars is 5-10 years; I known there are a few people that lease and trade in every two years, but in my opinion that is just too damn expensive to keep doing.

At least with houses, unlike everything else in general, their value can appreciate and you can sell for more than you bought it for, especially if you made additions or upgrades that are desirable to new home owners.

I imagine this "Auto-Brake" must be terrifying if you aren't paying attention and almost hitting a cyclist. It's like the first time you really use Anti-Lock brakes and it feels like the pedal drops to the floor and you broke something ha ha.
