Steve Ballmer has told delegates at its Worldwide Partner conference that a new tablet device running Windows 7 would be out within months.
Speaking at the keynote address in Washington Ballmer said that Microsoft was working with Dell, Samsung, and Toshiba to develop 'slates,' portable tablets similar to the Apple iPad. Microsoft has been working with HP on such a device, but since the acquisition of Palm work on that project has almost ended.
Microsoft has made it easy for iPhone users to check their mobile updates on Windows-enabled computers.
