Amazon Maintains Long-Leash Strategy With Woot Buy

Following the same general path it took in acquiring sites like Zappos and Audible, Amazon says its latest purchase, Woot.com, will remain operating as an independent subsidiary. Woot has seen strong sales growth over the past year in its flash sale business model, offering a single item at a time at a significantly reduced price until its supply is sold out.
