It's an annual meeting that brings together scientists in their formative stages—undergrads, grad students, and post-docs—and a collection of researchers who have won Nobel Prizes in the sciences for a series of lectures, discussions, and informal chats. The students, who come from around the globe, are chosen through a competitive process based on indications of their scientific potential; the speakers are chosen using much simpler criteria, and most years come from a single subject area: chemistry, physics, or physiology and medicine.
