Apple has confirmed that the iPad will be released in nine further international markets, including the UK, later in the month.
The tablet computer, which has sold over 1m units since its launch in the US at the start of April, will become available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 28.
Pricing for the WiFi-only models will be £429 (including VAT) for the 16GB version, £499 for the 32GB and £599 for the 64GB.
