At this point I don't see any valid reason why someone would want to spend 700 bucks in a GPU for just games is totally unreasonable and is even more unreasonable to spend that amount cause games in a 300 dlls or 400 dlls like the new Spider man, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima or already released games like God of War or Horizon and other exclusives look miles better than any game in a 2000 dlls PC, I really dare you look for a PC game that looks better and plays better than those I mentioned, come on be my guess, unless you are designer or an autocad user, Solidworks user so yes spending this amount in a GPU maybe is justified, but for only games? oh hell no.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Kingdom Come, Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition and the PC port of any game...

I see what you're saying masterfox. But different strokes for different folks. Some people are just tech junkies who want their games to perform at their best on their pc. Nothing wrong with it. But yes, console provides amazing power for the price you pay.

For me, it's all the NON-Console games where you "need" all the power you can get. I'm only playing on 1080p (need new monitor), but I max everything out and like to play many CPU intensive games as well as GPU intensive. And to get higher-than 60 FPS you need quite a punch.

RTS games, upcoming Open-Worlders (Cyberpunk 2077), these are going to take a lot of power. THOUGH, we do see amazing things with highly optimized games on ANY platform. That goes without saying.

GTX 1080ti
Ryzen 7 (1700), though I would rather fork out the extra cash and go with Intel next time, until Devs really
support additional core-usage in a meaningful way across the board.

only someone who don't really know the difference between 30FPS and +60FPS would say that

masterfox2127d ago

lol you have no idea, I used to be a PC gamer you know and did dozens of futuremark tests just to see some god damn digits to get bit higher for no god damn reason, download lots of tech demos from Nvidia site just to see what my GPU is capable off but never ever see PC games that actually uses lots of those features shown in the tech demos, so in the end your comment is the most basic comments of a person who doesn't know what the current consoles are actually capable off.

KTF262127d ago

what futuremark and tech demos has to do with your experience of the difference between 30FPS and +60FPS?

masterfox2127d ago

wow!, seriously? , you really asking that question ?, hint gpu/cpu/performance, that's the only thing I'm going to mention, if you don't know what I mean by that so I'm sorry you are actually the one who doesn't know the difference of 30 to 60 fps.

What's the point of power when the developers decide to lock the game at 30FPS and sometimes with frame pacing issue?

I have Dark Souls 3 on both PC and PS4 with some tweaks I can run it @ 60FPS without the frame pacing issue of PS4 version and the graphics quality looks very similar

MGSV GZ run @60FPS on PS4 but on my PC I can enable some lighting effects disabled on PS4 version and still maintain stable 60FPS

that's on GTX 750Ti which is considered weaker than PS4

you're a graphics guy
you just buy games to see how good it looks
you proved that to me when you mentioned you used futuremark and download tech demos
I don't have anything against that
just don't try to make a point on something you don't have experience on it
