This and other technologies that enable us to create convincing fake stuff are way too dangerous. People will just start dismissing anything that conflicts with their views or beliefs as fake - fake face swapping, fake voice synthesizing, etc. They already claim things like this are photoshopped, and now they're going to have even MORE ways of denying reality. The frustrating thing is that occasionally, they're going to be RIGHT - there WILL be proven fakes from time to time, and these will just reinforce their beliefs that anything and everything that clashes with what they believe is fake. Some people will probably even make fake versions of real stuff using this technology, and then dismantle that fake version to "prove" that the original, real version is fake. Introducing this kind of technology into our particular society is a recipe for disaster, and that's saying nothing about the kind of propaganda that this will enable.
