We've heard this before, haven't we? Giving tax breaks to corporations and the very wealthy instead of the working poor will promote investment and create new jobs, improving conditions for workers. Yeah, right. Displacing the labor force with machines will accomplish two things if no new rules are set in place: (1) Hundreds of millions will lose their livelihoods. (2) The tax base will get catastrophically depleted, since machines don't pay taxes.
