Can these robots really monitor things like joy, sadness, boredom, and confusion of a child? I seriously doubt it.

Good points you need someone with empathy and doesn't just think in a liner fashion that will be the biggest hurdles for AI's...

gizmig3012d ago

Exactly because these are the things that make us human being and makes us different from these machines.

Does it necessarily need to? A computer for a home schooled kid would not need to do that. Obviously it will know the kid is confused if it is getting answers wrong or if the kid says they are.

Well I think at some point its important for a teacher to understand the feelings of a kid in class so it is important.

I've had a few instructors in the past that could have easily doubled as a robot a few T-1000's too...

A robot wouldn't require sick days, vacations, food, or sleep, but they couldn't ever be programmed to personify a lesson like a real teacher can.

RetrospectRealm3012d ago

Personify a lesson? What exactly do you even mean by that? Emotionally teach the lesson? I feel like if we did develop robots to teach, they could emotionally teach a lesson to a class.

Well, it's finally happening. Restaurants are starting to use robots as servers

The robots still can't operate without the help of an actual server and look to assist employees instead of replacing them.
