A constant bugbear in automotive tech is how inconvenient it is to have to take one's car to the dealership to get a software update—something Tesla owners often gloat about since their cars don't suffer that problem. Good. My father recently upgraded the GPS in his Lexus and it was the most convoluted process - on board software like this needs to be connected to the cloud its a must these days.

What was the upgrade for? For new streets and addresses? I know my dad was driving with an old GPS that did not have newer freeways or would tell him to go down streets that did not exist anymore. It was actually pretty hilarious when we'd get lost. Lol

Yep lol streets that didn't exist anymore or weren't around when the GPS came out. And yeah we got lost quite a few times too =/
