One year after kickoff, OneWeb says its 700-satellite constellation is on schedule

Satellite Internet startup OneWeb Satellites has completed the preliminary design review for its 700-satellite constellation and expects to have its entire satellite subcontractor team committed by by early August, Chief Operating Officer Eric de Saintignon said June 30.

O3b Orders Eight More Satellites from Thales Alenia Space

Satellite builder Thales Alenia Space on Dec. 10 said it had contracted with satellite broadband provider O3b Networks to build eight additional O3b medium-Earth-orbit satellites, a move that will bring the O3b constellation to 20 spacecraft by mid-2018.
