What we understand from it is that the Snapdragon 810 powering the OnePlus 2 is being underclocked and throttled using software, so as to avoid any instances of overheating, a common trait amongst Snapdragon 810 powered devices.

The roll out of the OxygenOS update will be incremental, hitting users in batches in order to avoid any widespread bugs or failures. I hope nobody buys this thing. Companies need to learn to stop these half baked business practices. A chip that as proven by the Xperia Z4, has to be throttled so much it actually benchmarks lower than the 801, and yet they still want to charge 60% more for it. This is a ripoff plain and simple.
I can see them getting success if they keep the price below 400$, anything below that I think people will jump all over it,
