The market shares of Windows 8 and 8.1, when combined, are now larger than that of Windows XP. This is the first time those operating systems have surpassed the 13-year-old OS which still runs on 14.6% of computers. Together, Windows 8 and 8.1 have 15.45%, according to Net Applications.

well most xp users probably movied over to windows 7 and havent updated from there.

Windows 7 holds the largest share. Most Windows XP users migrated from XP to 7, skipping Vista in the proccess. I believe this will be the case now as well. Most people will jump over from 7 to 10, and skip Windows 8.
