NASA May Have Accidentally Created a Warp Field

“Star Trek” introduced the world outside of rocket science circles to the concept of warp drive – the propulsion system that allowed the starship Enterprise to travel faster than the speed of light. Warp speed is the holy grail that would let us explore the universe safely surrounded and protected by a space-distorting warp field. After watching the SpaceX rocket recently just try to land on a platform, you’d think this ability is years if not decades away. Yet the buzz on space websites is that NASA may have accidentally discovered a way to create a warp field. Wait, what?

Don't load that revolver just yet, it's probably YET blowing a very small probability out of proportion for page visits.

I know it's a long shot. But if this proves correct, we could be looking at a MAJOR step in humanity's evolution as a worldwide civilization. The possibilities are endless. Here's hoping Murphy's law comes into effect and proves something no one thought possible by accident.

Well i for one wouldn't wanna be alive where the human race, (probably the most despicable lifeform created by nature) rules and governs on an interstellar level.

I am willing to bet the are other species across the universe that are saying the same basic thing as you did just in a different language.

Only replace human with whatever they refer to themselves as. Your assuming we won't be guided or observed/policed by a more advanced civilization.

Beside if these beings have already mastered space travel, I seriously doubt we pose any credible threat to them.

Are you saying that the Millenum Falcon escaped an Empire Star Destroyer.... Due to an accident?!

ravinash3277d ago

No, that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

So they made LIGHT travel faster than the speed of light... woop dee freakin do.

Make something physical travel at light speed and then call me.
