Here’s some news that might have heads rolling. Back in February of this year, Dr. Sergio Canavero of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group in Italy announced that he would be spearheading a project that would in short, fuse someone’s head to someone else’s body.

I don't think this will end well. That doctor is a true mad scientist.

A head transplant? How the hell is that going to work? I don't think it's going to be a happy story in the end.

SmielmaN2054d ago

Sounds like he will have a splitting headache!!!

Eh?!

Is this thing on?

Bueller?

The Soviets transplanted dog heads to create real life Cerberus dogs. As well as detached dogs heads, but kept their hearts pumping to keep them alive.

......there's a special place in hell for those Soviets. And if there was no hell, the universe spawned one for the courtesy of punishing them.

you obviously have no idea what good ol America has done to children in the name of science and perversion...

SilentNegotiator2054d ago (Edited 2054d ago )

Because I specifically mentioned Soviets in a single comment without mentioning the US?

Stop projecting your insecurities. You're like one of those people that think that someone criticizing one politician or political party in a moment is automatically a part of the other party; it's completely unintellectual.

If Futurama is to be believed, then we can preserve the heads of famous celebrities in jars for centuries, and this is the catalyst for that dream

Anybody care to explain why their opting for a full head transplant vs a brain transplant?

hesido2055d ago (Edited 2055d ago )

Surgically it should be much easier, you'd have to rewire the facial nerves which go in and go out of the skull in various spots, the intact skull is an added bonus to protect the brain from infection. Psychologically it should me much easier the organ receiver (receiving a full body) as the face wouldn't change and would theoretically begin working much earlier than it would if you rewired the facial muscles (the nerve endings has to regrow inside the nerve "track".) And you have a matching pair of eyes to fit your existing skull :)

extermin8or2054d ago

Psychologically you get issues with giving someone a new organ or a hand etc sometimes so how badly is this likely to go. Even if they can do it what's the purpose exactly... I mean yeah he's got a body that's wasting away but he needs a working body to be transplanted to... so what happens to that bodys owner...

Fluke_Skywalker2054d ago

^^Perhaps someone with a serious head injury where they are completely braindead but their body is still in fine condition?

hesido2054d ago

Psychologically it should go much better than just transplanting the brain and having an entirely different look and a much harder recovery process. Like fluke says, body's owner would already be brain dead, like it would have to be for a heart transplant etc.
