An interdisciplinary team from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and Profectus BioSciences, Inc. has developed a quick-acting vaccine that is both safe and effective with a single dose against the Ebola strain that killed thousands of people in West Africa last year. These findings are detailed in the new edition of Nature.

I'd like to disagree with that. Although companies start researching when they see a potential return for it. But I have a faith in humanity, I like to believe there are people in this world who see Earth as their home and like to solve the problems it has.

There are certainly good people. But, after last months "potential exposure" headlines you know funding and focus hones in and all the different groups dig their heels in.

Funding was rough for quite some time because their was no profitable audience. You could see it in the articles from the past few years.

Pretty much, the private sector could care less about such epidemics if they cant make a profit there is no point. And thats fine for them, but this is why we need world health organization to pick up the slack and help those who are less fortunate.
