Affinity Photo looks like a great design app, but is it really a Photoshop killer, or just another hyped software?
The stranglehold that Adobe has on the industry is what you have to tackle. Easier said than done though right?
I want a decent alternative that I can actually buy, not pay obscene amounts per month for.
(Sorry, meant to add this as an edit to my first comment) And yes, I'm aware that it was $1000+ before for the suite. They more than likely could have made it a LOT cheaper if they had wanted to, but they didn't because they had the de facto pieces of software. And there ARE some decent alternatives to some of their software, but I'm just getting into this stuff, so I don't know what I'm going to get. I am learning how to use Adobe software in depth in a couple of classes right now, though, and I was horrified by how much they're trying to squeeze out of people (and the horror stories I read on the adobe forums about people trying to cancel their subscriptions).
Adobe Photoshop is made by professionals for professionals and is not going down any time sooner...
