VRFocus- Plenty of big names have become involved with virtual reality (VR) technology in the past year, arguably the most surprising of which is Google. The search engine giant revealed a head-mounted display (HMD) of its own last year that wasn’t intended to take on the likes of the Oculus Rift but instead appeal to the low-end market. That HMD was Google Cardboard, a smartphone-based kit that users could assemble themselves. The concept proved to be a hit with certain companies, but one VR fan is looking to do better by switching out cardboard for foam.
