Google's developer advocate, Wayne Piekarski has announced that an Android Wear update is rolling out, and not just any Android Wear update. This is the fabled Marshmallow update for the Sony Smartwatch 3. The first wave of watches are getting the OTA now, and all of them should be updated inside of a week.
Gearburn: "The smartwatch is still an infant technology that hasn’t yet decided what it wants to be when it grows up. Although there are a spate of Android Wear-based devices on the market, they’re all really the same thing in different outfits. This is a market where differentiation is more difficult than most, perhaps even more so than the tablet space."
Besides announcing an overpriced and rather outdated Walkman, Sony did good with a new Sony Smartwatch 3 version endowed with a stainless steel watchband and a limited edition Roxy SmartBand. Even though these things don’t sound new, they do feature a few new tweaks compared to what the company behind the waterproof Xperia Z3 already launched earlier in 2014.
