VRFocus- Many had hoped 2014 would end with Oculus VR releasing a consumer virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). In a roundabout way those people got their wish. While the company continues to work on the eagerly anticipated Oculus Rift, it did launch the smartphone-based Gear VR in partnership with Samsung, at least in the US. Although still very much a developer kit, the device has reportedly gone to sell better than Samsung itself expected. VRFocus recently spoke to Oculus VR Head of Mobile Max Cohen about the kit.
