CES 2015: Mushkin Announces High Performance Striker SSD Line

Maximum PC: Mushkin this week unveiled its new Striker line of solid state drives. The new drives are built for speed and reliability, which largely boils down to the type of controller -- in this case, Mushkin opted for a Phison PS3110-S10 controller, which boasts a quad-core, 8-channel design. It also features 256-bit AES encryption, Opal 2.0, end-to-end path protection, and a few other technologies.

I Smoked A Smartphone At CES

My favorite piece of vaporware from 2015 has to be the Jupiter smokeable smartphone. I made fun of the device when it came out, while applauding the clever combination of two modern gadgets. This seemed like something absolutely no one needs but that most people would like to try out at least once. That is, if it really existed and wasn't just a viral marketing stunt.

Mushkin Striker Solid State Drives are Now Available

Maximum PC: It's been a couple of months since Mushkin first trotted out its Striker line of solid state drives. First announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year, the Striker line drew interest for its rated speeds, which can reach up to 565MB/s for read and up to 550MB/s for write transfers. Not quite recording breaking, but certainly one of the faster spec'd SATA 6Gbps SSD lines.
