Why can't they just stick with a reasonable size (4.3-4.7") instead of always making the screen bigger? Or better yet, why not just make a Moto XL for people who want huge phones so everyone can be happy?
Agreed. I personally think jumping the G to 5" is a mistake, especially if it's at the expense of additional RAM. I would have held the line at 4.5"-4.7", bumped RAM to 1.5GB or 2GB. Then kept the X+1 around 5.1" or 5.2" and also bring out a proper Moto phablet in the 5.9" size range. Also silly is how Moto sees fit to equip the G LTE, G2 and E with microSD slots yet the X+1 apparently doesn't have one. It'll be the only 2014 flagship still lagging behind.

How is no one else noticing the absolute massive size of that phone? Yeah yeah, tiny Asian hands insert dong joke here. I just replicated that person's grip with my Moto X and that phone is freaking enormous. I have average sized mitts and I don't have the X in excess of 1" or more on either side like the dude in that pic. If the Moto X is 4.7" and the G+1 is 5" how in the hell is the phone that much longer?
