The Digital Reader - It looks like Barnes & Noble is taking a leaf from Amazon’s playbook.
Early this morning the retailer sent out an email to their customers, but rather than pitch ebook deals the email touts a new promo video for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. B&N is widely expected to launch the new tablet next Wednesday, and for once they decided to start promoting the new hardware before it officially launches.
Engadget - There was a time when Barnes & Noble was so big, so dominating, that even Tom Hanks managed to look like a jerk when he played a book-chain executive. But times have changed, and as people began to order their books online -- or even download them -- B&N found itself struggling to keep up. After losing a lot of money last year, the company decided it was time for a change: It vowed to stop making its own tablets, and instead team up with some third-party company to better take on Amazon and its Kindle Fire line.
Mashable - It’s hard to look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook and not think of it as a sort of surrender. Barnes & Noble gave the hardware and tablet business a better-than-college try, often pushing technology boundaries to some acclaim, but little notice. Its newest tablet is really just a middle-of-the-road, multi-function tablet with a very affordable price tag.
I'm pretty excited for this tablet. I already ordered and received a screen protector the go with it :)
Thank you but NO. I would rather buy the Apple iPad Mini rather than this. Yes, you can say that Android is open and many free apps in Google Store but not enough to compite the iBook of Apple.
