Eureka Alert:

(Philadelphia, PA) – The HIV-1 virus has proved to be tenacious, inserting its genome permanently into its victims' DNA, forcing patients to take a lifelong drug regimen to control the virus and prevent a fresh attack. This is some amazing news for the medical community.

SilentNegotiator3555d ago

After the last "cure" didn't pan out, I'm going to be cynical all the way up until I see an FDA approval of a process.

Blasphemy3554d ago

This isn't a cure, it's just the beginning of one that they will never make.

Zachmo1823554d ago (Edited 3554d ago )

Here's the thing SlientNegotiator, the FDA will probably never approve of it. The medical business is all about profit and NOT about saving peoples lives. Why cure HIV, when you have someone who has HIV and have them take meds for life.

UnwanteDreams3554d ago

Yep big pharma wins every time. They would ban vitamins completely if they could.

SilentNegotiator3554d ago

People that think there's no money in a cure are ridiculous. Rich backers would go head to head with big pharmaceutical companies to make large amounts of cash quick with cures.

iliimaster3554d ago

either way progress is being made i would hope

not gonna see the light of the day .

Scientists discover how to 'upload knowledge to your brain'

Feeding knowledge directly into your brain, just like in sci-fi classic The Matrix, could soon take as much effort as falling asleep, scientists believe.

Sign me up. I want to have the knowledge of playing a guitar like a rock star. Implanted in my brain. Or better yet 4 years of college transferred to my brain.

b163o12031d ago

I'm with you on the guitar, and I'd like to learn Japanese so I can relocate to Japan... GinJoeKnee lol

annoyedgamer2031d ago

So can I upload the info for my next exam?

gangsta_red2031d ago

Give me full knowledge of the IMDB database. Never again will I be wrong in the "who was that actor in that movie" debate!

FlyingFoxy2031d ago

Pass on that, can't trust the scores on IMDB since everyone has different taste in films

BlackDoomAx2031d ago

I'll wait for the download one. Better have some memories erased. My brain is full, I need more space in it.
