A new era of smartwatches is upon us, as Google has lifted the veil on its highly-anticipated Android Wear smartwatch platform during the recent Google I/O event. We expect numerous gadget manufacturers to jump on the Android Wear bandwagon soon, and up until now three major companies have already unveiled their Wear-powered products. LG, Samsung and Motorola have all been present at the Google I/O conference, where they’ve officially announced the G Watch, the Gear Live and the Moto 360 respectively.

Another tech company abandons Android Wear
Yesterday, Google announced what many hoped would be the first "proper" Android Wear smartwatches - designed from the ground up to provide the best Wear experience possible by the very team behind Android Wear. But what we received increasingly appears to be two LG smartwatches with hints of Google design influence, with far more of Google's effort being felt in the marketing and media campaigns than on consumers' wrists.
