Leap Motion’s 3D gesture control has taken a big step forward today after the company made the second-generation version of its software available in public beta for developers.
The Leap Motion hand-tracking controller has been available for quite a few years now as an add-on for owners of virtual reality (VR) head-mounted displays (HMDs) like Oculus Rift DK2. Originally designed for desktop PC’s Leap Motion realised there was a market for its device in the VR industry, creating a VR Developer Mount. Now with the launch of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive HMDs onto the consumer market, the company has revealed a new Universal VR Developer Mount.
VRFocus reports on the news that Leap Motion has announced a new hardware and software initiative called Orion, delivering better hand-tracking
VRFocus reports on a short term deal that will enable consumers and developers to get 20% off their Leap Motion order for Star Wars Day.
