You can own a bike by 2017 that can fly

I always wanted to own a bike which can fly just like the bike of Hagrid's(a fictional character of Harry Potter ) which continued to stay as an unreachable lust till now. But, with Aero-X getting launched by 2017, my dream can never be branded as an unachievable one.

A few things to point out for those that do not like reading the actual article.

-It does not actually "Fly". it simply hovers up to 10 feet off the ground. Think of it more as a next generation all-terrain vehicle, rather than a personal motocopter.
-It is only capable of traveling 72 kmh which is by no means practical. Again it is mostly a rec vehicle, akin to a quad.
-The fuel efficiency certainly is not going to winning any awards with a 1h15m drive time and max speed of 72kmh, it works out to about 90km per tank.

Neat concept but it still needs alot of work.

Yes. They have to work on that fuel efficiency. Flying here refers to its ability to levitate itself above the ground

Flying - "moving or able to move through the air with wings."

So no. This is more hovering.

@9YBCW "Flying - "moving or able to move through the air with wings." "

So what would you call a helicopter? This thing flies, believe me.
Just like this thing flew: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

This will never see retail in 2017. Realistic consumer vehicles like this are still much farther away.

As their own (very suspect) video shows, control is awful. Personally I can't help but notice how its edited so each thing is separate, meaning there could be many hours of take footage they simply don't show.

Its a neat idea, but there's a reason it hasn't been done before. We've had flying vehicles for a long time, the general public doesn't own one because its not practical.

If it was intended as a full road going vehicle, i would agree with you. It seems to be more of a recreational off-road similar to a quad though. 2017 is perfectly reasonable. They have had small rec hovercrafts available to the public since around 2002.

It will turn out to be really successful if they overcome the drawbacks. Awesome technology and prototype.. These are surely next generation bikes

Imagine the accidents where the driver's or driven over's limbs come chopped off by the rotor blades...

I will stick to the safer and more economical wheels.
