While rival services like Google Hangouts have long offered free group video calling, Microsoft is catching up to the competition and finally making Skype group video calling free. Skype users have been requesting free group video calling for years, and starting today Windows desktop, Mac, and Xbox One users will all be able to use the feature at no extra cost. "In the future, we’ll be enabling group video calling for all our users across more platforms," says Skype's Phillip Snalune.
It's still limited in scope
New update lets you have a video call without having a Skype account. You can start a chat through a link and can use it at any time as it does not expire.
With the sudden upswing of video conferencing needs due to working from home, Microsoft has decided to add a new feature to Skype.
Finally xD Skype actually learnt something from their competitors.
Yes!! Finally!
Its really a good news for all over the world. Families and Friends always like video chat in group.
Is it? I haven't tried it yet.
Microsoft did something for free? I'd be nice if they carried the same favor for some other Xbox apps.
