Look out New York City, Google Fiber may be coming your way soon.
$55 gigabit available in San Antonio while people in other cities pay $70.
Google Fiber filing permit to begin construction in Louisville.
As Google Fiber is sorting out its next moves, ground zero in the gigabit wars has emerged in Louisville, Kentucky, where AT&T Fiber has talked big but signed up very few gigabit customers.
YESSSSSSS!!!
So much thick red tape.
Too good to be true...
they would have a shit ton of work to do, massive bidding since verizon and the other providers practically own the landscape. and fios is pushing faster speeds out every 6 months or so.
Fiber needs to keep targeting big, yet smaller, cities before targeting big ones like this. The service providers basically own these areas and won't let Google step in. They rather milk low speeds and fees before actually taking big steps.
These providers pay government people to lock down areas and prevent Google from ever stepping foot there without dumping loads of money out first.
