Netherlands introduces glow-in-the-dark road ways

Glow-in-the-dark roads are now a thing in The Netherlands, at least on a 500 meter strip of highway by the section of N329 near Oss. Studio Roosegaarde has finally been able to implement light-absorbing glow-in-the-dark road markings on a small strip of highway, which they hope will help eradicate more expensive streetlights, and better assist drivers with actually being able to see the curvature of the road. The developers included photo-luminescent powder into the paint used to mark the roads, which means that they’ll charge up during the day via light from the sun and glow green at night for up to 8 hours.
