Maximum PC: If ignorance is bliss, it's best you stop reading now, especially if you just locked yourself into a subsidized handset for the next two years. For the rest of you, here's a heads up that next year's high-end smartphones could end up being game changers. High-end handsets in 2015 will be rocking Qualcomm's newly introduced Snapdragon 810 and 808 processors, which completes the company's lineup of 64-bit enabled, LTE-equipped chipsets for premium mobile computing devices.
The Snapdragon 810 has 'no quality problems' says Alex Katouzian, a senior VP at Qualcomm in a statement.
The LG G Flex 2 was probably teased by Qualcomm last week, the Snapdragon-manufacturer hinting at the fact that we would see a Snapdragon 800-powered LG device at CES 2015 in Las Vegas on January 5th. Now, the LG G Flex 2 has been mostly confirmed, but without the Snapdragon 800 CPU.
Local smartphone makers are nervous at the prospect of a delay in the launch of new models next year, including the Galaxy S6 and the G4. It is unclear whether or not the supply of the Snapdragon 810 will exist in the first half of next year due to technical problems such as overheating and a decline in speed.
