9to5Google: "Google recalled the power adapters to its popular little HP Chromebook 11 last week after an investigation by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said that some of the AC adapters were overheating and could be dangerous. Google had previously pulled them off the shelves of various retailers pending the results of the investigation."
Starting at just $189, the budget-friendly device also boasts a slimmed-down design and up to 12.5 hours of battery life.
Techprezz: HP is upgrading its Chrome OS laptops and there is no better privilege than IFA 2014 to announce it. As rumored, its new HP Chromebook 11 comes with a robust specs inside, thus an Intel Bay Trail processor instead of the Samsung Exynos 5 ARM-based chip used in HP’s previous 11.6″ model.
Maximum PC: If you recently scored an HP Chromebook 11, be aware that there's been a recall on the bundled charger with those devices. According to information obtained from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Google and HP issued the recall after fielding complaints of chargers overheating and melting during use. Google has received nine reports to date, including one report of a small burn to a consumer and a report of a burnt pillow.
