My idea of a great gift is one that is productive, cost effective and doesn't have any useless gimmicks. For example if its a laptop, avoid anything that has windows 8 with a touch screen because the cost of having the touch screen is not worth the compromise when you could have a higher specced machine for the same price. As a matter of fact, it would not be wise to buy an expensive laptop now because the next generation of PCs and laptops are coming out in 2014.
