Pffff... MIT, I had this idea for an alarm clock years ago, don't look like it'll take off so I don't mind sharing it.

The Shock Clock (wireless device), little wrist band included that gives you enough of a zap to have your forearm tense up until you go across the room to physically turn the clock off, idea being, to prevent you (people like) me from "sleep" turning the alarm off.

I was gonna enroll at MIT until I found out I didn't have the references, GPA, or aptitude really to be admitted, even though being a genius should be an auto-admit.

I actually had a very similar invention in mind once. I called it the Shock Band - an invention that was going to help you sleep. What you did was that you tied a band around your head and it recognised neural patterns in your brain so that it would know when you had fallen asleep. Of course, if you didn't fall asleep immediately it would after a while start delivering stronger and stronger electroshocks, until you eventually fell asleep.

Long story short, I sold the patent to the State of Texas.

My great uncle used that once, it worked, once... on him anyway.
