Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital Gaming Headset Brings Its Own Sound Card to the Party

Maximum PC: Roccat, a German manufacturer of gaming peripherals with an increasing presence in the U.S. market, unveiled its Kave XTD 5.1 Digital headset for gamers at Gamescom. It's the successor to the original Kave 5.1 and incorporates new and improved features based on community and customer feedback, the company claims. One of those feature upgrades is the addition of a built-in sound card.

The announcer's voice in that video was pretty obnoxious, but the bluetooth-phone actually sounded like it actually had the potential to be interesting.

It can be annoying unintentionally missing calls while wearing earphones..

Fashionably Late: Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital Gaming Headset Now Available

Maximum PC: We first learned about Roccat's Kave XTD 5.1 Digital Gaming Headset back in August of last year. At the time, Roccat said it hoped to ship the peripheral in November for $170 MSRP. Roccat got the price right, but not the release date, as November came and went without any sign of the Kave XTD 5.1 Digital. Now a month into the new year, Roccat today says its flagship headset is available to purchase.
