"Stone then notes that Facebook users actually love the service and tolerate the ads because they let it remain free"

I love the service? No. Tolerate the ads? Hell no. I use Adblock. Speak for yourself Stone, not the rest of us.

Draper3930d ago

I don't mind the ads. After using FB for so long, I've learned where not to look. :D

In2iti0n3929d ago

Except when they put them right in the newsfeed.

Draper3929d ago

Ok, yeah, I really do hate that. No way around them.

Speed-Racer3930d ago

bu-bu-but I have Adblock Plus...

Nucky3930d ago

Isn't $10 a bit too high?

In2iti0n3929d ago

Well, not quite. Enough to make people who are inactive on Facebook close their accounts. But the rest? They'll just keep using it, in case that's the price.

Nucky3929d ago

Yeah, maybe the ones in the US. But the rest of the world, especially non-Europe parts, that's too much for them I think.

fatstarr3929d ago

what ads on facebook?

they know if they start charging they would instantly loose 20% of the user base.

In2iti0n3929d ago (Edited 3929d ago )

Maybe, but they would increase their profits a lot. And we know that's what Facebook is all about. Earning money off of the users as much as they can. If that means make us pay, then that's what they'll do.

Except, that won't be good for them in the long term, and I don't think they'll go with it anyway.

But it's food for thought.

Draper3929d ago

Thwy won't increase their profits. I mean, they might in the first 2-4 months, but after that I's goind to start going down and down.

Nucky3929d ago

Exactly my thoughts. Except I think they'll lose more than just 20% of the userbase.
