Examiner: The Google Play Store is going to be added to Barnes & Noble's Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets, as announced by the company tonight.
An update for each tablet should be rolling out on Friday, which will significantly increase the app offerings for each Nook.

However, after years of slumping Nook sales due to the rise of the Kindle and the iPad, as well as Microsoft releasing its own tablet, the Surface line, both companies have agreed to end the pact and split ways.
TechCrunch - At its Android and Chrome event in San Francisco today, Google announced that it is bringing textbooks to the Google Play store so students will be able to purchase and rent their textbooks for their Android devices and for reading on the web.
