PushSquare - Microsoft has finally acknowledged its next generation console. After months of silence, rumours, and bad news, Sony’s closest competitor has confirmed that it will reveal a “new generation of games, TV, and entertainment” on 21st May. While some feel that the Redmond-based manufacturer may struggle to usurp the PlayStation 4’s recent unveiling from a strictly gaming perspective, we reckon that it would be naive to rule out the Xbox maker entirely. But what are likely to be the biggest weapons in the company’s barracks, and what can its Japanese counterpart do to ensure that none of them land a killer blow?
Microsoft is laying off more employees, a new round after they cut thousands last year. It seems like many big tech companies are doing the same.
Amidst the AI frenzy of 2023, major players like Google, Microsoft, and Meta are in the spotlight, launching their own generative AI systems.
Microsoft has made it easy for iPhone users to check their mobile updates on Windows-enabled computers.
I'm just happy that the rumor mill will die on May 21 & we can finally have a better understanding, that which console has a future in my/your house.
All I know is that I won't be impressed by watching tv from my console, I can do that on my phone if I want to,
the article is a nice fanboy wish list and make no sense call f duty will never go exclusive to any console nor will Final Fantasy XV,I LOL at GTA5 dual release with exclusive to the next Xbox.
ahhh the wish list of some fanboy/poor excuse for a "journalist"... Keep dreaming... GTAV exclusive??? haha... Face the facts, you saw it this gen and nothing will change. MS does not have quality franchises or studios to make them. They lost key employees at bungie, lost the lead designer of the gears of war franchise, Purchased Rare and ran it into the ground, and finally the developers of 360's biggest franchise (call of duty) lost a majority of their key developers and its simply been downhill since.
All MS knows how to do is throw money at their problems. Buying timed DLC is a waste of money, they need exclusive IP's (system sellers) and developers to make them. Nobody gives a flying fuck about "kinect", getting dlc a month early or plugging a cable box into their console to watch tv. Anybody who is old enough to afford to buy the damned thing knows all that is going to do is run up the electricity bill and that includes your mommy and daddy who pay the bill, kids.
Sony could do the same thing. Sell PS4's for $299 with a 3 year PSN-Plus contract. At $50 a year that's $150 that is put into the PS4.
This deal is much better then simply having to be forced to pay for online game play because it gives free games etc. on top of the new hardware. It's also better then buying a system that includes a bundled game because you'd receive access to all the free PLUSS games included with your console deal.
