Over at Forbes, it's being reported that Apple's board is ready to make a major shakeup by ousting Tim Cook from his throne, and even if the wheels aren't already in motion, apparently some of the company's share holders would like to see it happen.

Jobs chose Cook because apparently the man is a genius with the supply chain, a lifeline that is critical to Apple's success. I get the impression that Cook is an excellent Manager but not really an innovator. If it's true that Jobs had a hand in the next couple of products down the line then the plan was probably to make Apple stable after Job's death by picking Cook and then to build on that stability down the road. Remember how big the news stories were when Jobs would go on stage looking underweight and sickly? That was the paramount concern at the time.
