Tom's Hardware - If you can cast your mind back as far as Mobile World Congress in February, you might remember HP's launch of a tablet called the Slate 7. HP said at the time that the Slate 7 would launch in April of this year. Well, here we are, in April of 2013, and you'll never guess what's going on sale in the UK. Okay, maybe you will.
ShashGear- HP’s first go-around with a tablet didn’t actually go so well. The webOS-based TouchPad didn’t last long and was quickly discontinued. However, the company is back with another slate, only this time it’s running the more widely-adopted Android operating system, and it seems as though HP wants to give tablets another whack with its first-ever Android tablet, the Slate 7.
Maximum PC: "If you are a PC vendor mulling a foray into the world of smartphones and media tables, there is perhaps no other platform more convenient than Android for this purpose. That is not to say that it is an option that readily appeals to everyone, especially those who give priority to control over convenience. But, as tempting as it might be, to have your own OS, it does not guarantee success and can be a very costly exercise. Just ask HP, which has taken almost two years to recover from the unmitigated disaster that was the TouchPad and re-enter the tablet market."
Very aggressive price point, though the specs are nothing to get overly excited about. Will be interesting to see how it fares in the market place.

smh 99$ tablets is where its at.
but the nexus 7 definitely dominated and is the king of the under 250$ 7inch quality tablet market, its not justifiable to buy this when 30$ extra will get you a superior device
