That's a good deal for Crytek who have been quickly and quietly getting deals in place in order for Cryengine to compete more effectively against both Unreal Engine and Unity. Whilst we've got the VR First program I'd still like to see some from them on how the engine is directly better.

Not entirely sure I agree with that assumption, incidentally, then again with the pressure of so many hardware developers pushing the technology so hard there's certainly the possability for great advances in a short space of time.

VR is already being pushed so hard that I wouldn't be surprised if this estimate is disproven by 2018 or sooner.
