The Verge - There are two things you should know about me right up front. One is the list of shows I'm currently watching: at this moment I'm at various points in The West Wing, Homeland, House of Cards, Scandal, Alias, Mad Men, Community, The Office, Parks and Recreation, How I Met Your Mother, Workaholics, The League, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Girls, New Girl, Modern Family, The Newsroom, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Louie, and The Wire. (And those are just the ones I've watched recently.) I also watch a lot of movies, and religiously follow three different sports. The second thing you should know is that I don't have cable, so I'm entirely reliant on the internet to get my fill.
Cord Cutters News: Roku just released update 6.1 for Roku set top boxes. Here is our best list of everything that was changed.
The Man Cave Cinema writes; What can I say that hasn't been said already about Roku. The simplicity of the hardware and great software make this the best over the top box to have. Also realistically speaking, if you want to cut the cord, this is the box to get.
Brian S Hall from ReadWrite says: "Tim Cook and Apple may be constructing their "grand vision" for television but I'm not waiting, not even if Cook announces something awesome at the company's WWDC next week. I've switched from Apple TV to Roku 3 and am happy I did. More options, more content, slightly better terms, a remote control that doesn't feel like a cheap toy and, most surprisingly, an overall superior television experience."
It's unfortunate that after all these years there isn't a single device on the market that does it all. Lack of YouTube on the Roku is perplexing and definitely limits its usefulness.
