Why I’m uninstalling Windows 8

PC GamerN - As a cruel trick on myself, about a month ago I installed Windows 8 on my main PC to see what it was like.

The answer is: abysmal.

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that Windows 8 is the worst computing experience I’ve ever had. As a desktop operating system, it’s annoying, frustrating, irritating, and baffling to use. I’ve tried on many occasions to explain exactly why it’s so awful to use day-to-day, and most of the time, smoke starts pouring out of my ears. I thought it would be better to get down exactly what the issues are and why you should avoid it.

The opinion seems to be leaning towards what Morpheus has been telling us.

With all the bad press windows 8 has been getting a better title for this article should have been, "Why even as a cruel joke would you do that to yourself, and install a broken O.S. on top of your working perfectly fine windows 7 O.S.." LoL

it baffles the mind, how people can be told something is bad, and they still need to see it for them self's before they can believe...

I feel bad for the people who jump into this thinking it's going to be a proper upgrade, when actually it's more like how to turn your PC into a tablet..

-oh wait what's that you say, "you don't want your sweet PC to run like a watered down tablet, oh well, your out of luck because that's exactly what windows 8 is...

it's made for tablets, it's a copy of the iPad's O.S design, and Microsoft's plan is to make an O.S that works on all platforms.. from tablet to PC, and that's why it fails...

because why in the world would you want your PC to work like a tablet when you don't touch the screen. You use a mouse.

So to re-cap works great if your on a tablet, if your on tablet you now have something that works like an ipad, why you didn't just get an ipad only you and that man upstairs knows... but if your on a PC you now have an O.S. made for a tablet running on your three times more powerful PC..

You basically have a watered down Crysis 1 running in Lowest setting possible to get the game to run, yeah doesn't look good but it runs.. That's why they turned off the transparent aero effect in windows 8 -too much processing power for a tablet.

He's had an official retail release of windows 8 for a month?

HMM.

if you've ever been part of the beta programs of Windows Operating Systems, you'd know that Microsoft won't change anything between the release and beta.

I used Windows 8 for 2-3 months from consumer preview to the RTM 90 days trial and while I liked it because it was much more faster and efficient than Windows 7 just last week I decided to go back to Windows 7.

Why? Because Metro sucks. I liked it at first but then I noticed that when I was working on projects I was actually taking more time and it was more hassle than it was worth it.

Windows 8 will be a flop for laptops and desktops and I can tell you right now that the masses will complain and then they will complain some more but they will be forced to adapt. The market share for Windows OS it's so huge that you just can't escape from it, specially if you're programmer. This is what I would call a Monopoly and is bad.

I'm probably in the minority but I like Windows 8.
I just wish ms would have pimped out the start menu for this version rather than just scrapping it.
