Pocket-Lint: LG hasn't had the greatest successes when put alongside the likes of Samsung and HTC. With the LG Optimus 4X, the Korean company is, once again, packing the latest tech into a handset for another push in the Android market.
It's a strategy we saw with the LG Optimus 2X in 2011, which like many other devices stood in the shadow of the Samsung Galaxy S II. With the Optimus 4X, can LG put themselves alongside the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X?
AC - With the Android 4.1 source code having recently dropped on AOSP, custom ROM makers are quickly making progress in getting the new version ported to a variety of devices. One of those is the much-anticipated CyanogenMod 10, and this morning one of CM's leading devs has posted a short teaser video showing the Jelly Bean-powered CM10 in action.
Engadget - LG's Optimus 4X HD may not have toppled Samsung's Galaxy S III and HTC's One X from the quad-core throne, but it's definitely made it to the royal court.
PC World - The LG Optimus 4X HD ($560 unlocked; price as of 7/5/12) is LGβs first foray into the quad-core world. Announced some four months ago at the Mobile World Congress, the 4X HD is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, but thatβs not its only highlight. It also has a 4.7-inch display with a 1280-pixel-by-720-pixel resolution. The Optimus 4X HD is currently available in Europe and will arrive in Asia, South and Central America, and Russia in coming months.
