Apple Pays $60 Million In Order to Use iPad Name writes: "Apple has today settled a long-running dispute against the iPad name with Chinese company Proview for $60 million. Apple argued that it bought the global rights to the iPad name from Shenzhen Proview Technology in 2009 from a Taiwanese affiliate using a shell corporation for $55,000, but Chinese authorities said the rights in China were never officially granted to the company."
