Apple products are overpriced garbage for trendy hipsters. Put average hardware inside a fancy-looking chassis and then charge extra because they know idiots will spend a bazillion dollars to do something a cheaper, competing device can do better. Don't see why people even spend so much on "high-end" smartphones just to sit there and watch youtube and upload to Vine and crap like that.

If people are prepared to pay for what they want, it does not invalidate you paying less for what you want.
